The world famous TT Isle of Man races are in full swing and the entire island is alive with the roar of racing bikes, zooming by at breakneck speeds.
The world’s most extreme road races takes place on of the most challenging tracks, with endless bends, jumps, stone walls, bumps and telegraph poles.
Lotteries.com is proud to be sponsoring Andrew Dudgeon & Melvin Racing for this year’s races. Check out some of the highlights from the first couple of days!
Winner of the 2016 Junior Manx Grand Prix, 2017 marks Andrew’s debut at the Isle of Man TT races.
For a first timer, his results are especially impressive. On June 5th, he placed #15 for his first TT finish at the Supersport race, with a lap speed of 122.1 mph!
“Today was amazing,” shared Andrew after the race. “I’m so happy, the Supersport race was perfect for me and the team [with] a 15th position on my debut TT! Very excited. 3 more races to go!”
His placed 15th out of 71 riders and averaged just under 120 mph for the 150 mile race. Andrew also raced in the TT RST Superbike Race, and although it looked like he was set for a top 20 finish, he ran into some technical difficulties.
Alan Thompson, Director of Lotteries.com, who watched both races, says,”Unfortunately, Andrew informed me that on his Superbike race, he had to retire on the 2nd lap due to fuel starvation which due to a kink in the fuel line the engine wasn’t running properly even although his first lap was averaging over 123mph and looked set for a top 20 finish.”

This is Melvin Racing’s 3rd year at the TT races. Made up of Craig Melvin and Stuart Christian, this Manx F2 Sidecar Team are aiming to break into the top 20 this year.
Their first official Sure Sidecar TT 1, started off extremely well, and they set a new personal best of 102.1mph from a standing start. However, they faced some technical difficulties and had to retire.
Thomson, Director of Lotteries.com, who was one of the spectators, says “Stuart and Craig from the Melvin Racing Sidecar Team had over heating problems on race day, which meant they had to retire on the 2nd lap on the mountain. I’m gutted for them both as they had a fantastic first lap with an average lap of just over 102mph on the first 37.7mile lap of the course.”
They’re still aiming to get in that top 20 on their next race!
